This article highlights how Cimaglia Productions helped Allstate Insurance Co. enhanced its brand through social media in an online ad designed to recruit entrepreneurs to become agent-owners. A row of social media icons is stripped across the bottom of the landing page.

There are seven icons in total including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, as well as icons for some of Allstate’s homegrown social media tools. When a user clicks the YouTube icon they are taken to a page that features a half-dozen Allstate videos, all of recent vintage. This is just one way Cimaglia Productions is helping Allstate take advantage of social media.

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, Cimaglia Productions completed an 8-video series highlighting and promoting community service.  The production culminated in a Public Service Announcement featured on BET.  The PSA was a call to arms, inspiring others to give back to their communities, not just on Martin Luther King Day — which is considered a national day of service — but throughout the year.  The series, produced on behalf of the Allstate Foundation, was the centerpiece of festivities at the King Center in Atlanta, celebrating Martin Luther King Day.

The videos profiled community service leaders Lucy Hall-Gainer of Atlanta, Ga., Marquis Smith of Washington, DC, Xavier Jefferies of Charlotte, N.C., and Deanna Woods of Chicago, IL.  The series also highlighted community service projects undertaken on Martin Luther King Day, including work at the DuSable Museum in Chicago, and the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The Cimaglia Productions team produced, shot, wrote, and edited the 8-video series.

Cimaglia Productions submitted “Tell A Gal P.A.L. Economic Empowerment for Domestic Violence Survivors” for a 2009 Webby Award for best public service and activism video.  The Economic Empowerment Series featured interviews with domestic violence survivors, and advocates from the non-profit and corporate worlds, including Actress Mira Sorvino.  The videos are the showpiece of the Click to Empower.org website, which helps survivors of domestic violence get back onto sound economic footing.  Too often, victims of domestic abuse experience economic abuse, which makes it even harder for them to leave their abuser.  The Cimaglia Productions team produced, shot, wrote, and edited the 6-video series.

The Webby Awards recognize excellence in interactive design, creativity, usability and functionality on the Internet.  Winners are announced in June, 2010.

You won’t find a printer, post-it-note or scrap of paper at Cimaglia Productions, a Chicago-based, full service production company.  This  forward-thinking production company operates more efficiently by incorporating sustainable business practices.  Its seasoned staff of media professionals has created one of the leading high tech, energy-efficient production offices in Chicago and Boca Raton—completely paperless, completely sustainable.

The founder and CEO of Cimaglia Productions, Matt Cimaglia, made a choice to go green when he launched his office inside Chicago’s landmark John Hancock Building.  “Not only did I see a competitive advantage to going green but also the social responsibility component compelled me.”  Cimaglia Productions strives to achieve a perfect harmony between sustainability and profitability.

The focus on green forms the company’s culture and guides decisions.  Inside, sustainable techniques include filming on digital camera in lieu of wasteful tape.   Shutting off computers and other extraneous equipment at the end of the day is another simple, yet overlooked way to save energy and dollars.  Even the littlest details incorporated sustainability–the office location was chosen over others based on its proximity to public transportation.

The commitment to sustainable business practices has spurred some unorthodox client solutions.  The remote file-sharing system means that a full edit suite can be set up anywhere, sharing scripts and video without printing a page.

Sustainability, profitability and global environmental stewardship is the new business model.  Cimaglia Productions not only achieves that balance, but also sets the standard for the production industry.
